We are dedicated to catalysing the impact of communities across Te Tai Tokerau to revitalise biodiversity on behalf of nature and the generations to come.
A non-profit organisation established in 2012, Reconnecting Northland relies on independent funding to achieve its vision
Our strategy and ethos are derived from the model of Connectivity Conservation; being that nature (ourselves included) thrives when inter-connected.
Within this model, Reconnecting Northland serves as a catalyst for action. We strive for a culture of collaboration between communities and agencies within Northland; activating pathways to nature-based jobs and healthy landscapes
Currently our programme employs a dynamic team of five employees based in Whangarei, New Zealand; supported by a professional, diverse, and experienced Board of Trustees.
We invite your support on this journey as we strive to overcome barriers and focus solutions to achieve real and lasting change.
Te Kete Hononga is Reconnecting Northland’s innovative new service. Its primary aim is to streamline access to the ‘know-how’ required to achieve and scale up conservation efforts in Te Tai Tokerau, Northland. This will be achieved through the delivery of targeted ecological tools, services and resources to community groups, via on-the-ground relationships with our Kairaranga.
Currently in a trial phase, we look forward to expanding the service to the wider region in the near future
