This project is located on Ian and Helen Hilford’s dairy farm in the Mangakahia Valley near Titoki. The dairy operation is managed by Taratahi Agricultural Training Centre as a training dairy farm for young people, many of whom will become Northland’s dairy farmers of the future. › Read more
The Warawara Forest is situated on the west coast of Northland between Hokianga and Whangape Harbours. It covers a total area of 13,324 ha, which includes 6,758 ha of conservation land and 6,566 hectares of privately owned land. › Read more
The Kiwi Coast supports and links community, agency and iwi-led kiwi recovery throughout eastern Northland. The initiative currently stretches from Bream Head in the south to Hihi in the Far North, with a total area under active pest control of 78,425ha. Nearly 60 community groups, projects, iwi/hapu, forestry companies, government agencies and organizations are now involved in the Kiwi Coast which has been running for two years. › Read more
