Eamon joined Reconnecting Northland in 2016. He has a background in education, research and community-led initiatives which he brings to the Programme.
Of Te Roroa, Ngāti Torehina, Ngāti Arera, Crete, Scottish and Irish whakapapa, Eamon is passionate about indigenous advancement and the use of creativity to build more cohesive and resilient communities. He believes that the answer to a Reconnected Northland exists within the narratives that connect landscapes and people across the region. “Reconnecting Northland has an exciting opportunity to support Northland’s communities to explore these narratives as a means to strengthen peoples’ relationship to the natural world. This empowers iwi, hapū whānau and landholder communities to be living expressions of their own identity which promotes long-term and sustained benefits for the whole region.”
